Christmas Play no. 2

Unfortunately I was unable to make this performance as I couldn't get out of work. Andrew, however, was in the front row and took plenty of photos. So here is Madeleine in the role of Mary. She remembered her line "I'm Mary" and took great care of baby Jesus.

Christmas Play no. 1

In her first of 2 Christmas performances at preschool, Madeleine was the A for Angel in the "A-Z of Christmas". She did very well, although I think Thomas stole the show by shouting "hello Maddy!" at the top of his voice during her piece. Next up, on Friday, she's playing the part of Mary, so we'll update then.

All Wrapped Up

Our For The Count

As most of you are aware, Thomas ended up in hospital for a couple of nights after having a febrile convulsion last week. It seems that it was a particularly nasty throat infection. Thankfully he has made a speedy recovery and hopefully we won't have to deal with anything quite so worrying for a longtime. On the plus side, he did get to ride in a "nee-naw". Here is a picture of Thomas the day he came out of hospital. We were trying to keep him awake until after tea (hence the fork and spoon in the picture) but this was futile.

Bikes

Oops...Madeleine's hair-length spoils the continuity of this blog (only 1 day out).
The Mercian.
One day this will be mine.....all mine.
Madeleine getting to grips with the trail-a-bike.
Three on a bike (again).

Madeleine's Hair Cut

We finally, and reluctantly, took the plunge to get Madeleine's hair cut. I think we'd all had enough of the tears every time it was brushed. Unfortunately we couldn't afford to fly Mai over from Japan, however Rachel was really good. Madeleine likes her new "do", and I do too, but I am a little saddened that it marks the end of the ringlets.

Bure Valley Railway

Along with our friends from Stamford, we ventured out to take a ride on the Bure Valley miniature steam train, with the lure of an ice cream at the other end.
